For this competition, Stairs Design Awards 2019, the PBM group asked designers and architects to rethink and innovate the concrete staircase.
Kyklicos is the idea of a continuous and evolving form with an unstable aspect, evoking the notion of "infinity", of a triangular "cycle" that extends. This thick line, which constitutes the staircase, does not stop, from the first to the last step. Like a long ribbon marked by right angles. This repetitive form, which rises, creates a weave between the indented legs, imposing at the top and increasingly thin at their base supporting the steps.
The moiré effect of the staircase creates a play of light and shadow. Depending on the weather or the time of day, this luminous graphics evolves with more or less expressiveness and intensity.
